Cyprus student visa and work: Can you be employed while studying?

If you are looking to earn some extra income while studying and living in Cyprus it’s perfectly possible to work in the island with your student visa—but under certain rules. The first is regarding the total working hours per week. With that rule you can work for a maximum of 20 hours while you are on a student visa. Immigration laws in Cyprus prohibit students from working for more than 20 hours a week. The good news is there are a lot of different options in the country for part time work and employers are usually hiring part-time staff.

Rule 2 - Allowed Industries

You are required to work in the following industries:

• A car wash or gas station
• Recreational centres such as hotels in positions such as cleaners or kitchen assistants
• Food delivery, includes coffee shops delivery as well
• Husbandry or agriculture
• Social or health care services such as helping out in the home for the elderly
• Household activities
• Manufacturing industry with roles in recycling, forage production, or bakeries
